Rebecca Skloot

What a great lecture by the author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.  How much the information that was presented was review?  What was new or surprising?  Are you glad you went?

  1. I found the lecture to be very informative. I was surprised by how well of a speaker she is, and also how well she could flow from reading the book to giving her speech. At times it was hard to tell if she was reading from the book or giving her lecture.

  2. I am very glad I attended the lecture! Ms. Skloot did a great job keeping my attention and making the lecture fit all types of people who attended; people who have read the book, partly through the book; never picked it up. It was a little difficult to tell when she was reading and when she was talking when she would take a minute to quote the book. Other than that I have no complaints. Also I am intrigued to see what her new book is going to be like!!!

  3. I couldn't make it but i was talking to my fellow researchers and i heard that they were very pleased with how Rebbecca was such a strong and great speaker, and that sometimes she would just ramble on and read from the book but they were always interested.
