I think that the question is backwards... should her name have been identified with the cells at all? The problems associated with her future generations and their access to medical care would have been eliminated if the donation had been anonymous.
ReplyDeleteI feel her cell sample should not of been associated with her name, but that was the system and they got all of the people the same way
ReplyDeleteIt was standard practice to use the first two letters of the first name and of the last name to name cells. It was to keep anonymity, and while it would of been best to keep it that way. People began to wonder who this woman with these amazing cells were.
